Water and Sewer

Richland County Utilities protects the health and wellbeing of residents by delivering safe drinking water and effective wastewater treatment with efficiency, integrity, and care.

Help keep fats, oils and grease out of drains.

  • Scrape plates into garbage cans before washing.
  • Let fats, oils or grease solidify first. Then, wipe them away and discard in the trash.
  • Pour cooled, liquid fats, oils or grease into a container. Secure the lid and dispose of the container at an oil collection facility or landfill.

Spread the word! The less fats, oils and grease that enter our drains, the fewer taxpayer dollars spent clearing and repairing clogs and overflows from blocked pipes.
