Since his election as Richland County Auditor in November 2006, Mr. Brawley has been honored to serve the citizens of the county with transparency, integrity, and a steadfast commitment to public service. A proud Columbia businessman and graduate of Limestone College, he brings both private-sector insight and academic rigor to his role—holding dual master’s degrees in business and management from Webster University and having completed the South Carolina Executive Institute.

A lifelong resident of Richland County, Mr. Brawley remains deeply rooted in the Lower Richland community, where he and his family continue to live, work, and serve. Over the years, he has served on numerous professional and civic boards throughout the Midlands, consistently striving to enhance the quality of life for residents.

In 1995, he was awarded the Order of the Palmetto by Governor Carroll A. Campbell, the state’s highest civilian honor. He also received the Smithsonian Institute’s Computerworld Medal for Innovation in Technology in the Public Sector, recognizing his efforts to modernize and improve public services. His extensive background includes key roles in state government, with service as a senior staff member in the Governor’s Office, executive staff at the Department of Social Services, and as an adjunct professor at Midlands Technical College.

As Auditor, Mr. Brawley remains committed to ensuring that every Richland County resident understands their rights and responsibilities regarding taxation. He continues to foster a welcoming and responsive environment within the Auditor’s Office—one where constituents can expect fairness, clarity, and respect.

Through collaboration and dedicated leadership, he remains focused on strengthening the community and upholding the principles of efficient, accountable government for all.
