Drop-Off Centers

Richland County Drop-Off and Recycling Centers are free for residents and limited with fees to commercial customers.

Resident Drop-off Guidelines

  • Proof of residency is required.
  • Items must come from your primary residence and not exceed four visits per month.
  • Residents with trailers over 8-feet long must use the C&D Landfill site.
  • Items from rental properties, second homes, or businesses must follow commercial guidelines.

Commercial Drop-off Guidelines

Commercial customers may use the Construction and Demolition (C&D) Debris Landfill if

  • An account has been set up or payment is made by credit/debit card;
  • An annual application is submitted;
  • A user fee is paid (for account holders);
  • A current Richland County Business License is provided; and
  • A tipping fee per ton is applied for all loads.

Accepted Yard Waste and Land-Clearing Debris

  • Earthen material (clay, topsoil, sand, gravel, rock)
  • Vegetation (grass, logs, trees and stumps, limbs, brush, mulch)

Accepted Construction and Demolition (C&D) Waste

  • Bricks, blocks, hardened concrete
  • Treated and untreated lumber
  • Shingles and roofing material (no asbestos)
  • Floor coverings (hardwood, vinyl, carpet, padding, tiles)
  • Wall and ceiling materials (drywall, plaster, paneling, wallpaper, tiles)
  • Insulation material (no asbestos)
  • Fiberglass and ceramic (bathtubs, shower stalls, sinks)
  • Glass windows and mirrors
  • Attached structure items (doors, signs, shutters, awnings)
  • Other structural materials (canvas awnings, swimming pools)
  • Asphalt (must be cured and hardened)

  • Mattresses (only at this location)
  • Furniture
  • Household appliances
  • Playground and exercise equipment

  • Computers, monitors, printers

  • Phones and fax machines
  • Rechargeable batteries from handheld cordless tools

  • Plastic bottles, jugs, jars and other containers (Plastic containers marked with arrows and a No. 1 through No. 7 are accepted. Examples include beverage and shampoo bottles, butter tubs, yogurt cups, milk and orange juice cartons, etc. Disposable cups and polystyrene foam ARE NOT accepted.)
