Step 1.Before You Begin

Each applicant will need to upload:

  1. Official Picture Identification and
  2. Official document with full Social Security Number

If you are not a United States Citizen, we must receive your Valid Passport and current VISA.

Acceptable Picture Identifications:

  • Valid State-Issued Driver's License
  • Valid State-Issued Identification Card
  • Valid Military Identification Card showing name and date of birth
  • Valid Passport

Acceptable Social Security Number documents:

  • Social Security Card Tax Return (page 1) showing name and Social Security Number
  • W-2 or Tax Form showing name and Social Security Number

Step 2.Apply for a Marriage License

You can search for a Richland County marriage license and order a certified copy online.

  • Both names are required and must be entered as they appear on the Marriage License.
  • If the names are not entered correctly, it might not be found.

Request a Marriage License Certified Copy

Fee

  • $8 per copy

Payment Methods

  • Debit or credit card payments are not refundable.

Turnaround Time

  • Upon receipt of request and verification of payment, the request will be processed and mailed.
  • Allow two business days after completing the request form.
  • Requests are not processed before 8:30 a.m. or after 5 p.m. on weekdays, weekends, or County holidays.
