Maintaining County Roads for Safe Travel

Richland County Roads and Drainage works to keep our community safe by maintaining the county roads and storm drain systems. We address road issues in many different ways.

What We Do

  • Dirt Road Maintenance
  • Install and Repair Storm Drain Systems
  • Paved Road Maintenance
  • Install and Repair Stop Signs/Street Signs

Paved Roads

Paved roads need to be evaluated and maintained by repairing potholes and resurfaced when needed. Each road is designed to accommodate water from rain events into a storm drain system, they also need to be cleaned and repaired occasionally. We also began a street sweeping program that will help eliminate sediment from entering the storm drain and clogging the system.

Dirt Roads

Dirt roads are maintained by keeping them graded and adding crushed aggregate. They also have storm drain systems that have to be maintained to promote positive drainage.
