Renew online and save $10, time, and ensure accuracy.

Step 1.Before You Begin

You will need:

a business license example showing year, business ID and location ID
  • Business ID – found on current license (first set of numbers after the year; 2025-12345-67890
  • Location ID – found on current license (second set of numbers after the year; 2025-12345-67890
  • Federal Tax ID (FEIN) or Social Security Number (SSN)

If any changes have occurred to the business (e.g., change of ownership, address, or business activity), please contact the Business Service Center before renewing the license.

By Mail

Business license renewals can be mailed with payment to our office at 2020 Hampton Street, Suite 1050. If you did not receive a renewal form in the mail, you can print one using the online portal.

Step 2.Enter Required Login Information

You’ll need:

a business license example showing year, business ID and location ID

  • Federal Tax ID (FEIN) or Social Security Number (SSN)

Step 3.Calculate and Review Fees

When prompted, enter the last year’s actual gross revenue and any allowable business license deductions.

  • Verify figures before clicking Continue. Once submitted, you will have to contact the Business Service Center by email for corrections.
  • Review the list of allowable deductions before submitting. IRS deductions or business expenses are not business license deductions.

Step 4.Other Applicable Fees

If your business needs Decals or a Peddler’s License, click the corresponding button at the top of the page to add these.

Step 5.Certification

  • Read each license requirement and check the box next to it, acknowledging compliance.
  • Enter information for the person completing the online application.
  • Click “Certify and Continue” to pay online. Or click “Print Certification” to print a paper renewal form suitable for mailing.

Step 6.Mail Payment

Mail the printed renewal form, any applicable documentation, and check written to “Richland County” to our office. Include the business license number on the memo line.

Step 7.Submit Any Applicable Documentation

Any documents applicable to the business license renewal need to be included when mailing.

  • Deductions Worksheet (required if deductions were claimed)
  • Business Personal Property Tax paid receipt
  • Current list of Officers or Principals

In Person

Step 1.Before You Visit the Office

Please ensure you have the following:

  • Previous year’s total gross revenue
  • Completed Deductions Worksheet or detailed list of allowable deductions (if applicable)

Verify all other applicable County taxes have been paid

  • Business Personal Property Tax
  • Hospitality Tax
  • Accommodation Tax

Step 2.Visit Our Office

We are open 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday.

Step 3.Complete Renewal Form

You’ll need to complete a business license renewal form. Blank forms are available in the office. Or complete and print a renewal form in advance.
