Help keep fats, oils and grease out of drains.

• Scrape plates into garbage cans before washing.
• Let fats, oils or grease solidify first. Then, wipe them away and discard in the trash.
• Pour cooled, liquid fats, oils or grease into a container. Secure the lid and dispose of the container at an oil collection facility or landfill.

Spread the word! The less fats, oils and grease that enter our drains, the fewer taxpayer dollars spent clearing and repairing clogs and overflows from blocked pipes.

Our goal is to provide you with a safe and dependable supply of drinking water. We monitor for contaminants according to federal and state law, testing for:

• Lead
• Copper
• Coliform

Call Before You Dig

You must contact SC811 by dialing 811 or 888-721-7877 to have all relevant utilities locate any buried lines. Be sure to call at least three full business days before you plan to dig.

Richland County Utilities will only locate utilities up to the sanitary sewer service cleanout/stub-out or the sanitary sewer service gate valve, located at the property line. It is the customer's responsibility to locate any buried water or sewer service lines on their property.

Yard Marking Guide

• White for proposed area to be excavated
• Pink for temporary survey markings
• Red for electric power lines, cables, conduit and lighting cables
• Yellow for gas, oil, steam, petroleum or gaseous materials
• Orange for communications (cable television and telephone), alarm or signal lines, cables or conduit
• Blue for potable water
• Purple for reclaimed water, irrigation and slurry lines
• Green for sewer and drain lines
