How do I rezone my property?
Zoning districts are established to group compatible land uses together while separating those that might negatively impact each other. Over time, as neighborhoods and areas evolve, it may become necessary to change the zoning classification of a property to allow new types of development that were not previously appropriate.
This change in zoning is called rezoning and involves a public review process to ensure community input and alignment with the County’s comprehensive plan.
Before You Apply
To help streamline your rezoning application, we strongly encourage applicants to contact the Zoning Division staff before submitting a rezoning request. This allows us to discuss the application requirements and evaluate how your request fits with the comprehensive plan and the surrounding neighborhood.
