Richland County Government continues to celebrate National County Government Month. On April 9, 2013, Richland County staff visited 4th, 5th and 6th graders from St. Martin de Porres Elementary School to teach them about the programs and services that the county offers. The well behaved students were not only able to learn about the invaluable work of staff at the Richland County Sheriff’s Department, Emergency Medical Service Department and the Fire Department, but they also had the exciting opportunity of touring an ambulance, a fire truck and a police patrol car. The students showed great interest in learning more about Richland County Government. They are thrilled to participate in an essay contest to demonstrate what they learned during the Richland County Show and Tell Day. The student(s) who win(s) the contest will be recognized before the Richland County Councilmembers during the next regular session meeting on April 16th, 2013.
