The Office of Budget and Strategic Management offers financial assistance to internal stakeholders by providing management guidance and technical support. The office reviews and analyzes policies, promotes program integrity, and addresses issues that may arise during budget execution activities. Additionally, we offer leadership throughout the County in managing the financial components of budgeting and grant applications for various projects and programs.

Their responsibilities typically include developing budgets and proposals, managing awarded grant funds, and ensuring compliance with grant regulations. Additionally, the office is involved in grants oversight and evaluation, grants systems management and coordination, training and development related to grants, and streamlining grant processes.

What We Do

  • Develop financial plans, which may include forecasting, creating budgets for each department, and maintaining financial documentation for reporting purposes.
  • Administer outside agency funding programs, including Community Impact grants, Accommodation Tax grants, and Hospitality Tax grants.
  • Provide coordination and expertise for county related grants to ensure that internal accounting controls are effective and efficient.
  • Track and monitor spending and budget performance across all departments.
  • Ensure compliance with grant terms and any special conditions.

Community Engagement

The office primarily supports internal departments by offering budgetary guidance to County departments and leaders. Additionally, the department manages various grant opportunities available to nonprofit organizations and agencies that implement community-based programs and tourism-related events.

Brittany N. Hammond, MBA

Director Hammond is a financial management executive with over a decade of experience in budgeting, grants, and fiscal operations in government, higher education, and nonprofits. She has led multimillion-dollar budgets, improved compliance, recovered costs, and strengthened operations. She holds an MBA and degrees in Criminal Justice.
