Purpose

The contracted operation and management of the historic properties known as the Museum of Reconstruction Era at the Woodrow Wilson Family Home and the Hampton-Preston Mansion.

Meeting Schedule

Frequency: 4th Monday every other month beginning in January

Time: 4-5:30 p.m.; plus board orientation (1.5 hours); board retreat (5-6 hours); annual meeting (2 hours)

Location: 2020 Hampton St.

Duration: 1.5 hours

Membership Details

Two representatives appointed for four-year terms.

  • Serve on the Historic Columbia Foundation Board of Trustees.
  • Members shall not serve more than two consecutive terms; however, upon service of two consecutive terms a member may be eligible for reappointment after one year of non-service.

Preferred Qualities

  • Commit to participate in the ongoing cultivation of community support and to actively participate in fundraising;
  • Make a financial contribution and maintain an individual membership while serving on the Board;
  • Attend 3-5 Historic Columbia events each year;
  • Attend at least one County Council meeting each year; and
  • Participate in at least one volunteer activity per year.
