Following are highlights from Richland County Government in May:

Richland County’s Development Services is launching the next phase of its move to become a one-stop shop for the development community.

Last year, the County brought key aspects of the development process under one roof. This week, it is doing the same thing online with a new website and project tracking system.

Richland County offices will close Monday, May 26, in observance of Memorial Day. All regularly scheduled trash collections for the week will be delayed one day.

The County’s Public Works Division is holding a parade featuring a variety of vehicles and equipment used in road building and maintenance. Following the parade of backhoes, excavators and more, residents can visit different booths to learn more about the contribution of Public Works to their daily lives.

Children wearing paint-splattered clothing and smiles just as bright and colorful gathered Tuesday to put their special touches on a mural – created by a world-renown artist and championed by a bow-tie wearing Richland County Councilman – reflecting the international character of their community.
