A Cover Crop Field Day will be hosted by the Dillon SWCD on Tuesday, March 18, from 10am until noon. Participants will learn about the Conservation Innovation Grant supporting cover crop demonstrations in Richland, Dillon, and Marlboro Counties. Chanda Cooper, the education program coordinator for the Richland Soil and Water Conservation District and the County’s Conservation Department, was named the 2013 Outstanding Conservation District Employee by the SC Association of Conservation Districts.
Richland County nominee Melinda Beach has been named South Carolina’s 2013 Primary (K-6th Grade) Teacher of the Year by the South Carolina Association of Conservation Districts (SCACD). She will be recognized at the Association's Awards Luncheon later this month.
