The Start Center
Proposed plans for the Start Center include a multimodal transit hub, business incubator and economic development resources to help guide startups and entrepreneurs into successful new businesses. The Start Center is envisioned to be a collaboration between public and private entities to increase and sustain economic viability and emphasize business start-ups and entrepreneurial activities.
The Start Center’s planned location is the Broad River Road/St. Andrews area. Richland County recently purchased the former Havertys store at 1430 W. Colonial Life Blvd. for proposed use as part of the Start Center. A public meeting was held at the site April 12, 2018 to hear residents' input, ideas and suggestions about the Start Center. Pictured second is a conceptualization of the facility.
