The Richland County Ombudsman's Office is hosting a job fair from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. May 11-12. The Ombudsman's Office is looking for self-motivated and driven professionals who enjoy making a difference in their community.
The job fair will be at 2000 Hampton St., Suite 1026, Columbia (first floor of the Health Department Building).
Available positions: Customer Service Representative
Qualifications:
- Must have the ability to type a minimum of 45 wpm.
- Provides professional, courteous customer service, explains department and County polices and procedures.
- Responsible for receiving disseminating compliments, complaints, inquiries and requests for assistance from the general public, appointed and elected officials, County officials, the general public and outside agencies. Enters service requests, compliments and employee complaints into computer database; transfers requests to appropriate personnel; notifies department directors, administration and the Human Resources director of compliments for and complaints against employees, tracks requests to ensure prompt response. This data can be critical and highly confidential in nature.
- Receives, reviews and responds to Freedom of Information Act requests.
- Must have the ability to retain knowledge of all County departments’ functions; keep abreast of current events pertaining to area municipalities, Richland County and the state government; must have broad knowledge of County ordinances. Must have reliable high-speed internet capability, as this is a work-from-home position.
