Homeowners affected by the 2015 flood still have time to register for house repair assistance and mobile home replacement.
Registration for federal funding through a Community Development Block Grant-Disaster Recovery (CDBG-DR) began today and continues through June 15 or until 600 applications have been received, whichever comes first. Low to moderate income residents are a priority for this federal aid.
Residents can register for Single Family Homeowner Rehabilitation three ways:
· In person, by dropping off a completed form at the first floor of the County Administration Building located at 2020 Hampton St., Columbia
· Emailing the completed form to RichlandCountyCDBGDR@sites.tetratech.com
· By mail, sending the completed form to Richland County Government, CDBG-DR Office, 1st Floor, 2020 Hampton St., Columbia, SC 29204
The registration form is available online at www.rcgov.us/floodrecovery and at the first floor of the County Administration Building during normal business hours. Questions may be answered in person at the first floor of the Administration Building, by emailing email@example.com or by calling 888-964-1589.
Residents can expect to be informed about their registration status after June 15.
Richland County staff operated intake centers at the County Administration Building and the Gadsden Park Community Center today to help streamline the application process on the first day of registration. More than 250 residents submitted forms.
After May 15, forms are being accepted at the first floor of the County Administration Building and by email or postal mail.
