Six youth environmental projects will receive funding through the Richland Soil and Water Conservation District’s Conservation Education Mini-Grant Program and the City of Columbia’s Clean Stream Columbia Program, which provide grants of up to $250 to support classroom conservation initiatives.
The Richland Soil and Water Conservation District (SWCD) was named the 2015 Outstanding Conservation District of the Year by the SC Association of Conservation Districts (SCACD).

Nominations for Richland County's 2015-2016 Conservation Teacher and Principal of the Year will be accepted until April 8, 2016. Winners will receive cash prizes and be recognized at the District's annual banquet.
Trees are essential for the survival of humans and other organisms. Richland County K-12 students are invited to learn more about trees and the many ways they support life, then share their knowledge with the world in the form of a poster. Cash prizes will be awarded for winning entries. The entry deadline is April 8, 2016.
