Richland County Councilwoman Chakisse Newton (District 11) and S.C. House Rep. Jermaine Johnson Jr. are again teaming up for a COVID-19 vaccine drive in Lower Richland.
A food giveaway will be part of the event, and the County will also distribute gift cards to residents getting their first dose of the vaccine, while supplies last.
Prisma Health will provide the Pfizer vaccine to adults and children ages 5 and older who need their first or second dose. Those eligible for a booster shot or third dose can also receive one, per S.C. Department of Health and Environmental Control guidelines. No appointment is needed to receive the vaccine, which is free and does not require insurance.
Local nonprofit Carolina for All will provide grocery bags containing food items to those in need. The food is available first come, first served.
While registration is not required, residents are encouraged to sign up online via Eventbrite to help with planning.
