Richland County Councilwoman Chakisse Newton, District 11, will hold a virtual meeting to discuss a rezoning request. The 175.5-acre site, bordered by Rabbit Run Road and Garners Ferry Road, is zoned as Planned Development District (PDD). The PDD district was approved in 2007 and is intended to allow for a mix of residential uses and densities within neighborhoods.
The rezoning request seeks to develop at a lower intensity than what is currently allowed, decreasing the number of total residences by nearly 200 units. This would decrease the number of multi-family units and increase the number of single-family units planned for the development.
During the meeting, Councilwoman Newton will be joined by the developer, Kevin Steelman of LandTech SC, who will give an overview of the proposed development and answer residents' questions. Submit questions during the meeting via:
