2017 Neighborhood Planning Conference
"Getting to the Heart of the Matter"
Richland County’s Neighborhood Improvement Program is hosting the 2017 Neighborhood Planning Conference on Saturday, October 21, 2017 from 8:00am – 2:00pm at Richland School District Two’s Institute of Innovation (R2i2) - 763 Fashion Dr, Columbia, SC 29229 - located in the Sandhills area.
This year’s conference is centered on Getting to the Heart of the Matter and is focused on addressing issues to improve the health and happiness within our local neighborhoods.
We will have two feature presentations: Mr. Bernie Mazyck of South Carolina Association of Community Economic Development and Mr. Vince Ford of Palmetto Health.
Additionally, there will be three workshop sessions:
1) Asset-based community development involves using a neighborhood’s current resources and assets to its advantage.
2) Bridging the generation gap highlights the need and ways to connect aging members and youth within a community.
3) Connecting with Richland County details ways constituents can communicate with County government.
Registration for the conference is free and includes a light breakfast and lunch. Priority registration is open until Friday, October 6th at 5:00pm.
